Meet the bird nerd.

About

Birding Barcaldine encourages locals and visitors to explore the diversity of birdlife in Barcaldine and surrounds. Our hope is to foster in people, a love for the birds, and a heart to care for their habitats.

From a young age my parents fostered in me a love of birds. They developed our garden full of native flora to provide a safe and beautiful haven for the birds. Living on the shores of a lake we were able to observe such a diversity of both forest and water species.

Moving to Barcaldine I have discovered a surprisingly wide range of environments – sandy scrub, snaking river, tall gum and coolibah, grasslands and native bush – which attract a plethora of stunning birdlife.

Feeling grateful! Liz
